Oia in the afternoon light. This picturesque village is one of the foremost tourist attractions on Santorini and well known as widely used postcard subject. Oia was previously known as Apano Meria, the reason why inhabitants are called Apanomerites. The Ancient Greek Oia was one of the two harbours of the old Thera and was located in the southeast of the island.
